Last stop before our home base in Lo De Marcos January 18-20, 2023

Heading to Rancho B in La Placita, Michoacán, Mexico 🇲🇽🌴

ree

Our campground in Ixtapa before Larry hitched the trailer up. This place was right on the beach with a pool. The bathroom and showers were a bit yucky though.

ree

Someone’s pig taking a walk on Highway 200.

ree

Colorful town sign along the way.

ree

Our beach in La Placita…. No one to be seen!

ree

This reminded me of the Camino de Santiago.

ree

Black sand

ree

It was Larry’s lucky day! He found 7 sand dollars.

ree

At the south end of the beach, they had these crazy rock formations. I suspect they are lava flows from thousands of years ago.

ree

I found these brilliantly colored rocks.

ree

Deserted and all ours!

Love this!❤️

ree

Me jogging the beach.

ree

ree

This was my favorite rock.

ree

We went into town to see what they had to offer. It was a small village with not much to see.

ree

The river that flows to the ocean in the rainy season.

ree

Volleyball but no one around.

ree

We stopped for a snack by the Pemex station and made a friend! I fed him tortillas and he loved them.

ree

ree

Larry even petted him!

ree

Such a cutie!!!

ree

Then later that day, I found this guy in the trailer bathroom!!! I wasn’t that excited 😩

ree

This is Ranch B RV park which has the best bathrooms and showers on the coast!

ree

Lovely and books too!

ree

This is the common area. Sandy will make pizzas on request here on Sunday nights. Unfortunately we were here Wednesday and Thursday nights. 🥲

ree

It’s beautiful here!

ree

ree

ree

This is the short trail down to our deserted beach.

ree

The wonderful showers.

ree

He even has a papaya tree!! Yum!

ree

Last sunset.

ree

All ready to go. The last big push to Lo De Marcos. It’s going to be at least 8 hours of driving.

ree

There was a road block at the border between Michoacán and Jalisco states. We waited 30 minutes and we were let through. Folks were demanding that some missing activists be located and were blocking the only road to force the government into action. They only blocked one lane of traffic but it definitely had an impact.

ree

It looks like a huge cactus is growing out the top of the truck!

ree

ree

We are getting close.

ree

See the cruise ship in the middle of the road…. Not really. This is in Puerto Vallarta.

ree

Here’s Larry after parking the trailer. It was a very long day but we got to Lo de Marcos by 5:30pm.

The best thing was our friend Deb and her boyfriend Matt brought us pizza and beer shortly after we arrived!!🍕🍕🍺🍺🍺

I am curious about how you went? Straight up the 200? If so did you find an easy way through or around PV?
